Merry & Bright Christmas Tree

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted at Princess Splendor. Life has a funny way of getting in the way of things. Anywho, glad to back! Since our last post, we’ve upgraded! I don’t know how I lived so long without a Cricut. Beyond just being a amazing to craft with, the Cricut has become a fun activity I can share with my Princess.

Below is her tutorial for our Merry & Bright Christmas Tree. We purchased the green plastic trees from the Dollar Tree. We used our Cricut to design and cut the decorations. For a $1 and a few pieces of scrap vinyl, we have ourselves a great new addition to our Christmas collection.

This is my first time sharing a link to Cricut. Please let me know if it isn’t accessible. To download the design, click here.

How Many Days Until Christmas?

December 1st is a bit depressing. I wait for the Holidays all year and when they finally come, I wish they hadn’t. They go by too quickly! While getting ready for school, Princess A reminded me that Christmas will be here before we know it. She continued to lament that it will all be all over too fast and then we will have to wait all year again. I think… no – I know – she gets it from her Abu! Many a family vacation that on the first day I was reminded that our vacation was almost over and we’d have to leave soon.   [Read more…]

House Divided

It’s that time of year. A splendid time when I root for Gators and my husband for the Noles. Did I mention our beautiful daughter joins me 99% of the time rooting for the Gators? We are in fact a House Divided. Like clockwork, when this glorious time of year rolls around, we fight like…  well…. Gators and Noles. We try to be civil, but alas we are not that mature.  [Read more…]

{Super Bowl XLVIII Printables}

It’s time for some football! Well, not quite. Almost. Is it Sunday yet? LOL. Can you tell I’m a little bit excited for the Super Bowl? Yearly our family hosts a Super Bowl party. Well, get together if you ask my hubby. He knows the word party is associated with decorations, so I’ve started decorating for our get togethers too. That way there’s no confusion. #winning [Read more…]

{SMARTIES Valentine’s Day Printable}

So, it’s almost Valentine’s Day! YEAH!!! Standing between us and Valentine’s Day is Super Bowl XLVIII. Are you ready for some football? We will be having friends over for the game so the planning has commenced. But I digress, back to Valentine’s Day. This year, I didn’t want to do the conventional Hello Kitty or Disney Princess Be Mine card. They are cute and quick, but I had an extra hour to spare – crazy I know – and decided it’d be fun to do a craft with the Princess. [Read more…]

{First Day of School}

Did you do it? Did you survive the first day of school? We did!

I’m pretty sure the Princess was far more reserved and normal than myself. Although I kept it together for most of the morning, I lost it as I walked away from her classroom. When I turned around and saw this little lady sitting at her desk, I couldn’t help but wonder where 5 years went. I swear I still have the scars! [Read more…]

{Patriotic Printables}

Ok. So I’ve become a bit obsessed with designing printables for any occasion. Pretty much if my daughter decides to throw her baby dolls a party, I’ll make printables for them too. For my family’s Memorial Day Celebration, I designed some red, white, and blue inspired printables. I’d like to share them with you. [Read more…]

{Never Forgotten}

It’s Memorial Day! That glorious day that we get to spend time with our families, bbq, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Most importantly, we get to remember those proud men and women that have sacrificed their lives for us. We often hear all the negative things that surround us on a daily basis. I tend to err on the positive side. We are a great country, with wonderful things to offer. Cue the music…

{Puerto Rican Paleo}

The title to this post makes me laugh. One thing is trying to eat healthy. Another is trying to eat healthy and not neglect the foods you grew up with. I was born in Puerto Rico. My parents raised me eating rice and beans, mofongo, and chuletas. On the occasional night we ate pasta or mashed potatoes, it still had a Hispanic flair. [Read more…]

{Cowgirl Glam Up-Cycle}

So….. my Princess has a pair of boots. These boots have traveled throughout the State of Florida. They’ve hiked mountains in Northern Georgia. They’ve experienced sand and snow, jumped off of playgrounds, and even caused an ouchie or 2. My daughter adores her boots and literally wears them to preschool everyday (no exaggeration here).  [Read more…]
