So….. my Princess has a pair of boots. These boots have traveled throughout the State of Florida. They’ve hiked mountains in Northern Georgia. They’ve experienced sand and snow, jumped off of playgrounds, and even caused an ouchie or 2. My daughter adores her boots and literally wears them to preschool everyday (no exaggeration here).
The problem is, after all the adventures my Princess and her boots have encountered, it has became embarrassing to be seen in public with them. The boots have became so worn that we need an intervention. Since we both have an addiction to all things shiny, we did what any reasonable mother-daughter team would do – we added rhinestones! Here’s a quick recap of the process. The boots went from worn to cowgirl glam in less than 30 minutes!
What You’ll Need:
– Boots, sneakers, shoes you want to glam up
– Rhinestones
– E6000 glue
– Toothpick
– Mod Podge
– Scissors
– Paint Brush
Step 1:
Prep your boots! Use scissors to cut and remove any frayed pieces of your boot/shoe. You want a clean surface for the stones to adhere.
Step 2:
Select your rhinestones and pick a pattern. I figured out how many I needed on the top row and reduced from there. Next, using a conservative amount of glue on the tip of your toothpick, begin to place the stones. Do not use too much glue or it will leak out the sides. ¡No bueno!
Step 3: Optional
Using your paint brush, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge over the top and sides of your rhinestones. Be warned, they will lose a little bit of shine, but will have one more layer of support for all the frolicking in puddles, mud, grass… you get the point.
Step 5:
Let dry. Sit back and admire your cowgirl glam boots!
YEAH! In less than 30 minutes, we gave new life to the princess’ boots. Now instead of dirty stares from people that don’t understand her emotional attachment to these fine boots, we get compliments on how cute they are! Win. Win.
If you glam up some boots, please share with us!

My daughter actually has a pair of loved boots that resemble the before. What a great idea. I am definitely going to try this!
Ivey,
Feel free to come back and share a link with us! It really got embarrassing. I’m sure people thought we didn’t care about the way she looked. LOL. You cannot come between a girl and her boots.

Great way to salvage a well worn favorite!
Thanks! Now she really doesn’t take them off.
This is such a great idea!!! I can’t wait until my little girl gets a little older and starts getting into fashion so we can do some projects like this together 🙂
My Princess’ play time has become setting her own ‘party’ table for her friends when I’m not watching. It’s cute. I love being able to spend crafting time with her. It’s special time. Enjoy it when it comes. 🙂
I would love for you to share and link up at my TGIF Link Party. The party is open every Thursday night and closes Wednesday’s at midnight.

Cute! My daughter also has a pair of boots she is attached to! They are just a cheap pair from old navy, but I guess they are so comfortable, that she wore them almost everyday this fall, winter and now into spring. LOL.
Thank you so much for linking up. Hope to see more from you on my next linky party.
